MMF · Map My Friends

Terms of use

Last updated 25 September 2026 · MMF is made and operated by Zenemix Labs · zenemixlabs@gmail.com

This is our own draft, not legal advice. We wrote it ourselves, in plain language, so that it actually describes how MMF works. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer, and a few things a formal agreement would normally settle — the registered company behind Zenemix Labs, which country's law applies, a minimum age — are not settled here. We would rather leave them open than invent them. Ask us at zenemixlabs@gmail.com and we will give you a straight answer.

By using MMF you agree to what is below. It is short, and the part that matters most is §5 — what you take on when you put another person on your map.

1. What MMF is

MMF is a private map of people you already know. You add a pin for a friend, with the city they are in and whether they are around, and you message them in whatever app you already use.

What MMF is not, by design and not by omission:

2. Who you are dealing with

MMF is made and operated by Zenemix Labs. When these terms say "we" or "us", that is who it means. When they say "you", they mean the person using the app.

You also have an agreement with whoever supplied you the app — Google Play, or Apple — and their rules apply to the download and to any payment. Nothing here overrides them.

3. Your account

You can create one with Google, with Apple, or with a one-time link sent to your email address. We never ask for a password and never store one. Keep control of the email account and the sign-in you use, because whoever holds those holds your MMF account.

Give us accurate details where you give us any. Do not impersonate someone else and do not create an account on another person's behalf.

One account is for one person. You can use it on several devices.

4. Using MMF without an account

MMF works without signing in, and that is a real mode, not a trial: you can build a complete map that stays on your device. These terms apply to that use too.

Two consequences worth knowing. If you lose the phone, you lose the map — there is no copy of it anywhere else, and we cannot restore it. And signing in uploads it: the pins you made while signed out are adopted into your account and synced, private notes and photos included. The privacy policy says more about that moment.

5. Putting other people on your map

Almost everyone on an MMF map is someone who never signed up. When you add a pin, you are recording information about another person — their name, their city, roughly where they are, possibly their photo, their email, their phone number and their social handles. They did not agree to that. You are the one deciding.

By using MMF you agree that:

Where the law treats you as responsible for personal data you hold about others, you are that person here, not us. We built the app narrow on purpose — city-level pins, no strangers, no background location — but what goes into a pin is your decision.

6. What you may not use MMF for

If you find a security hole, please tell us at zenemixlabs@gmail.com before you tell anyone else. We will thank you properly.

7. What you enter stays yours

Your pins, your notes and your photos are yours. We do not claim ownership of them, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to train anything.

We need your permission for one narrow thing: to store your content, move it between your devices, and show it back to you — and, for your own pin, to show it to the friends you have accepted. That permission lasts as long as you keep the content in MMF, and it ends when you delete it or delete your account, subject to the exceptions in the privacy policy.

8. Invitation links

An invitation link lets someone add themselves to your map without an app or an account. Because it works for whoever holds it, treat it like a key: send it to one person, not to a group or a public post. Anyone with the link can put a pin on your map.

Links you make for one specific person stop working after 30 days. Your permanent personal link does not expire; switch it off in the app when you want it dead, and it immediately stops returning anything, including your name.

If you are the guest: what you type on that page goes onto the map of the person who invited you, and your coordinates are cut to about 1.1 km in your own browser before anything is sent. You do not need an account and none is created for you.

9. Services we depend on

MMF is built on services we do not run: Supabase for the database, sign-in and file storage; Mapbox for maps and city names; OpenPanel for product analytics; Expo for push notifications; and Google and Apple for signing in. If one of them is down, part of MMF is down. The privacy policy lists exactly what each one receives.

10. Availability, and "as is"

MMF is a young app made by a small team. We will keep it running and keep it honest, but we do not promise it will always be available, always be fast, or never lose anything. Features may change or be withdrawn.

Keep your own copy of anything you care about. Settings → Your data → "Export my pins" gives you a file of your pins. Take one now and then; it costs nothing.

MMF is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those your local law gives you and that cannot be signed away. Some countries grant consumers rights that no agreement can remove — those rights stand, and nothing here is meant to reduce them.

11. Liability

We are responsible for our own serious failures, and nothing here tries to escape liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else the law does not let us limit.

Beyond that: we are not liable for what you or another user chooses to put in the app, for what happens because a friend saw your city, for data lost when a phone is lost, or for a third-party service failing. MMF is free, so where the law allows a cap, our total liability is capped at what you paid us, which is nothing.

12. Ending it

You can stop at any time: delete your account in Settings → Your data → "Delete account", or by email if you have already uninstalled — see Delete your data. Uninstalling alone removes what is on the phone but leaves a synced account standing.

We may suspend or close an account that is being used to harass, track or collect people, or that is attacking the service. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right.

13. Changes

These terms will change as the app does, and the date at the top moves when they do. For a change that meaningfully affects you, we will say so in the app rather than leave it to be found here. Carrying on using MMF after a change means you accept it; if you do not, delete your account.

This page is in English only for now. The app speaks Spanish too, and a Spanish version is coming; until it is here, the English text is the one that applies.

14. Contact

Zenemix Labs, zenemixlabs@gmail.com. Legal questions, complaints, security reports and "please take my name off someone's map" all go to the same address, and a person reads them.
